FAQ
Where can I find your booking and enquiry forms?
We have a Booking Form and an Enquiry Form here on this web site.
How long in advance do I need to book?
It is ideal to book about 3 months in advance, as this will ensure the best musicians are booked, however we are flexible.
What style of music do the ensembles play?
Mostly classical, however they are able to perform arrangements in different styles such as jazz, popular and world music.
Why should I choose Ensemble Link?
We have a fine selection of ensembles suited to a wide range of events. We make booking music for your event easy and enjoyable. Our musicians are at the top of their game, having performed both here and overseas and with renowned professional groups. Our service is personalised, working with you to achieve your vision for the event. Our fees are reasonable and affordable.
Does Ensemble Link have concerts?
Yes, we produce concerts on behalf of clients and as an independent presenter. We also produce fundraising concerts - please enquire at time of booking. If you would like to hear about any upcoming concerts featuring our musicians please send an email to tunedin@ensemblelink.com.
How do I hear the ensemble I would like to book?
Firstly, check the Ensembles Page to see if there are recordings of your preferred group. We may also be able to post you a CD, if available, featuring your ensemble. If you choose a more unusual group, bear in mind that sometimes the players will need to be sourced seperately and hence there will not be a recording availble. If this is the case, we will direct you to some recordings of similar sounding ensembles and instruments.
Can I meet with the ensemble before my event?
Yes, we can arrange this. This is a great way to work with the musicians to create an event that is special and unique. Due to the time committment involved of the musicians there is a fee charged for this service. This is calculated by the amount of time requested for the meeting and is based on the subsequent half hourly rate (see Bookings Page).
How is the fee charged and what is the minimum booking time?
1 hour is the minimum time you can book a group. Fees are then worked out for each subsequent half hour. Full payment is required 7 days before the event and can be made by direct debit, cheque or credit card.
What do I need to provide on the day for the musicians?
-
Work out where you would like the musicians to sit
-
For outdoor events, a sheltered area that is away from direct sunlight is essential in order to protect instruments
-
Please note that at the first sight of rain, we must pack up to protect instruments, so it is advisable to arrange a back-up indoor venue or alternatively you may wish to hire a functions tent
-
We will need a place to store our cases and comfortable chairs with no arms
-
Adequate lighting and a comfortable temperature is paramount
-
We request that musicians are provided with drinks during performance and a meal if booked for more than 3 hours
Can I choose my own instruments?
Yes - go to the music section on the Booking Form and select 'Choose Your Own'. It is a good idea to discuss your choice with us first to make sure the group will suit your event.
Can I choose my own pieces?
You can chose up to 4 pieces for a 2 hour booking and 7 for bookings longer than 2 hours. Visit our comprehensive Ensembles Repertoire List on the music page to make your choices. If there is a piece that is not there that you would like sourced or arranged there is a $80 fee. Please note: this is subject to the obtaining of copyright licensing for the piece, which is included in the $80 arranging fee.
How do I send the Booking Form?
By email or post (if emailing, please type your signature).
What if the event is located in the country or outside NSW?
Ensemble Link groups are able to travel interstate, nationally and internationally. Please enquire at time of booking regarding travel and tour costings. |
